POLICE have released video footage and a COMFIT image of a man who approached two young girls and beckoned them towards his car in Ashmont on Wednesday.

The two girls, aged nine and 10, were walking along Adams Street at about 5.45pm when the man pulled up next to them.
The girls told police the man gestured for them to come closer to his car, before they fled.
The man is described as being in his mid-50s, of Caucasian appearance with long grey hair and a goatee beard.
