Potter and eight-year-old mare Bradgate Park Delilah won the advanced division of the NSW Dressage Championships at Horsley Park.
The pair combined to win each of the advanced tests and were also successful in the freestyle to music.
Potter was confident of a strong showing.
“Her form leading up to the event had been very good so I did expect her to go very well,” Potter said of Delilah.
“Winning was a bonus, but I did expect her to compete well.”
Potter has had the mare since she was six months old. They took out the NSW state novice championship two years ago.
“To do it again, two levels up, not many do that,” Potter said.
“I was extremely happy, it was quite a difficult level and is a stepping stone to higher levels. If she can do quite well at this level, we know she’s heading in the right direction.”
The pair have now qualified to compete at the Australian national titles at Sydney’s International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park in about five weeks.
Potter thanked Riverina Equine Veterinary Service and Carousel Equine Services for their support.
