At 4.45am on Saturday morning, a van in the carpark of Wagga’s boat club was set alight.
Fire fighters extinguished the flames but the vehicle was destroyed by the damage.
The owner of the van had left it there overnight after attending a trivia event at the club on Friday evening.
A Grong Grong woman, who has asked not to be named, said she would be happy to give the family with her Toyota Tarago van which was no longer used.
The car needed a new battery and a service but was otherwise in working condition, she said.
“It will need a service but the offer is there for them,” the good Samaritan said.
“[The van] has just been sitting here for months and months so I would rather it go to a family in need.”
The family can get in touch with the unnamed angel by phoning the Advertiser on 6938 3346. Anyone with information about the fire should contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
