Wet weather and a lack of horses at this year’s popular race meeting were not enough to keep more than 4600 people away.

The horse racing was cancelled at the last minute after stewards deemed the track unfit for use.
Murrumbidgee Turf Club chief executive officer Scott Sanbrook said it was a hard decision to cancel the races but was pleased the phantom meeting was able to go ahead.
“It was amazing the crowd roll-out for the day,” he said.
“It emphasises the great reputation the day has and that it’s branded itself as a social highlight.”
This is the third time in 10 years horses have been absent from the Ag Races.
