Stewards inspected the track at 5pm on Friday and declared it unfit for racing on Saturday with a number of isolated sections the biggest concern.
While disappointed by the result, president Bernie Connolly said all wasn’t lost for the club.
“Everything except the racing is on,” Conolly said.
“We've got Fashions on the Field, a band, Sky Channel and metropolitan bookmakers.”
It means Gundagai is set to host the lone Southern District meeting of the week on Sunday.
A seven-race card is set down to start at 1.05pm.
However if the rainfall continues as forecast on Saturday it will also put that meeting in doubt.
