Demolition of Hampden Bridge
- To demolish the disused and dilapidated 120-year-old timber bridge, GHD was employed by Wagga City Council to bring specialist bridge knowledge with experience in demolition of timber truss bridges. GHD was able to provide advice and input on the demolition method and well as reviewing and challenging the contractors demolition plan, methods and engineering before release of hold points.

Lockhart flood mitigation work
- Following severe flooding in Lockhart and The Rock in 2010 and 2012, Lockhart Shire Council procured plans and floodplain risk management studies to identify projects which could mitigate flooding. GHD’s survey’s and construction drawings allowed council to apply for construction funding. The construction of the work sees long-term benefits for the Lockhart community with improved safety, a drop in flooding and less damage to property.
GHD provided environmental assessments on the Kapooka Bridge realignment.

- The bridge realignment was long awaited by the Wagga community, as well as uses of the Olympic Highway. GHD worked with the RMS to complete environmental assessments and reports on the project including looking into Aboriginal heritage, visual impact of the bridge and the impact on the Box-Gum woodland listed as critically endangered.
