Srama signed a three-year deal but surprised the club after deciding to leave after only one season.
“I definitely shocked the playing group and the committee but it had been playing on my mind for a while,” Srama said. “Certain things away from footy were really eating away at me, it was a bit tough and my head space wasn’t quite right, but when I made the call to the committee it was one thing that came off my shoulders.”
Srama had plenty of injury concerns during his time with the Blues with troubles with both ankle, a knee, his ribs and his hand at various stages of the year.
However the biggest problem was maintaining relationships.
He hopes moving back home to Queensland will help get things back on track.
“Away from footy a lot of things just keep on happening that I need to get sorted,” he said. “It has been a tough couple of months and I have enjoyed my time and enjoyed the footy aspect and seeing the club change.
“All the positive feedback I’ve got from everyone in the juniors and seniors and the town saying ‘it’s the best thing that happens in the town’ is something I am very proud of.”
Srama will fly home to Queensland to purchase a car before returning for the Blues presentation night on September 24.
