The city’s fifth skate park will be lit up in October, as will the Chambers Park playground, basketball court and toilet block.
The work will mark five months since the skate park was constructed to cater for the suburb’s growing number of families.
It comes amid council candidates citing disengaged youth and associated crime as one of the biggest issues Wagga faces.
The $100,000 grant from the state government will also go towards a new shelter, barbecue, table setting and bike racks at the Ashmont Community Centre, set for construction in in November.
The projects will be funded through the NSW government’s Social Housing and Community Improvement Fund.
