Geppert finished with 11 goals – taking his tally to 90 for the season – as the Hawks enhanced their percentage with a 25.15 (165) to 5.2 (32) victory at Gumly Oval.
But coach Gavin McMahon isn’t assuming they’ve earned the week off yet.
“We’ve just got to keep getting better – we came off the bye and beat Barellan, then we were better today and we need to be at our best next week against the only side in the comp that’s beaten everybody,” McMahon said.
“We’re looking forward to it – playing Coly and seeing where we end up whether it’s the week after or the week off.”
McMahon said a win will avoid worrying about percentages but only a dramatically heavy loss to the Blues could open the door for The Rock-Yerong Creek.
Geppert’s 11 goals came in not much more than three quarters after others chimed in with the early scores.
“His radar was on today, but there was some pretty good supply from our midfield – some very good clearance work from our mids and Nick Hull in the ruck and Zac Robinson when he was in there,” McMahon said.
Chris Gordon, Stu Brierty and James Creasy orchestrated much of the damage.
Temora were competitive early but were then outclassed, held to just two goals after quarter-time.
