The prolific full-forward has kicked 79 goals this season, 39 of them in the six games since the halfway point of the season.
The Hawks kept Barellan scoreless for three quarters, eventually running out winners 23.19 (157) to 2.3 (15), as they prepare for home games against Temora and then Coleambally in the final round which could decide the minor premiership.
“We did what we hoped to do, we started okay and we got better,” EWK coach Gavin McMahon said.
“That’s the start for us now and we’ve got to keep getting better.”
Ben Absolum continued his rich vein of form and, with Geppert, helped the Hawks build towards a big finish to the season.
“All our experienced guys did well,” McMahon said.
“It was good – the midfield was good, the defence was strong and to have the forward line functioning well, it’s great.”
Adding to Barellan’s woes, John Evans was reported for allegedly striking Jake Robinson with a fist to the face in the second quarter.
Jed Hillman, Kabe Stockton and Will Overs were the Two Blues’ best.
