Wagga Sergeant Ryan Sheaff, an officer of 16 years, was last year’s overall winner at the Police Officer of the Year Awards.
Now he is awaiting this year’s presentation on August 24 at Wagga’s RSL Club.
Sergeant Sheaff said the countless hours pursuing offenders and investigating crimes were all worth it.
“It was a huge honour, a huge surprise and a very proud moment in my career,” he said.
“There are so many great police officers, at such a high level, nominated and it’s great to be able to show you’re appreciation for their work.
Wagga’s top cop, Superintendent Bob Noble said the night was a great opportunity for the public to mingle with, and put a face to their city’s officers.
Tickets can be purchased online or at Wagga’s RSL.
