It has long been a dream of former Riverina woman Breana Gorman to vie for the coveted pageant title but she was never in a position to apply – until now.
Miss Gorman, 22, placed in the top 13 in the national finals of Miss World Australia at the weekend and she took away much more than just styling tips.
Miss Gorman’s involvement in Variety, the Children’s Charity through the pageant inspired her new career as a teacher’s aid and to study education.
The former Adelong and Wagga resident raised more than $25,000 for the charity and her efforts got her selected as the wildcard entrant for the national finals.
“Other pageants focused on appearance but Miss World Australia focuses on the charity,” she said.
“It’s definitely something I’d do again.”
