Young captain-coach Neil Thorman has decided against making wholesale changes as the Cherrypickers adapt to life without him for the next four weeks.

Warren Aiken will move to five-eighth after Thorman was handed a four-game suspension by the Group Nine judiciary last week after being found guilty of biting Southcity’s Usaia O’Sullivan.
Fresh off the bye, Aiken’s positional switch is the only change for the Cherrypickers with Blake Hewitt coming off the bench and into the second row.
Thorman said keeping changes at the minimum would help the Cherrypickers when they tackle Brothers at Alfred Oval on Sunday.
“I am more than confident those boys will fit quite well in there,” Thorman said.
“There won’t be too much disruption.
“There were other players that I could have moved but it would have meant moving fullbacks, centres and wingers around too much.
“This way it is just a one in, one out.”
With Aiken taking over the playmaker’s role, Thorman expects the game to be team to play a more forward focused style, whoever he believes that suits the team.
Thorman will miss games against Brothers, Tumbarumba, Cootamundra and Kangaroos, all teams lower than the Cherrypickers on the ladder.
While it shapes as a favourable draw, with Temora are breathing down their necks in the battle for the finals Thorman doesn’t want a slip up.
“They are all below us, which is a positive, but these are the teams that we need to beat,” Thorman said.
Young isn’t the only team feeling suspension pain.
Brothers have Cade Price and Sione Nuilia out of their team from their involvement in an incident after the end of their clash against Kangaroos.
Timoci Vatubuli has been named as Price’s replacement at fullback while Brayden Sharrock, who avoided suspension on Monday night, returns and will start in the front row.
Young got away with the win over Brothers with a try in the last 30 seconds the last time they met.
Thorman is looking for a more “professional” performance after almost letting a comfortable lead slip.
“We will need a better defensive display as I think it will be a bit of a wet track,” he said. “Against Temora it went into our hands a little bit as it was more of a forwards game and he were able to get a lead and then defend on it.
“I am hoping that will happen again.”
The Cherrypickers haven’t lost since round three and Thorman doesn’t want to find the team in a position where they are constantly chasing points.
