Now the Kooringal Public School principal will ring the bell for the last time on Friday, ending a four-decade career dedicated to country education.
Fighting back tears, Mrs Davidson said the end was bittersweet.
The outgoing Kooringal Public School principal said she was proud to have ushered in greater inclusiveness of children with disabilities or low socio-economic backgrounds at the school.
“I will also miss the passion and dedication of the teachers I work with,” Mrs Davidson said.
“They are an amazing group of people.”
She now plans to volunteer her time with local social service organisations.
