An overwhelming 78 per cent of voters have thrown their support behind the Wagga to Ladysmith rail trail project.

It comes after a fierce backlash from two Wagga councillors over the controversial plan, which will use disused rail corridors to create a pathway for recreational use.
There were 741 people who responded to the poll, with 584 in favour and 157 against.
The project was officially launched last week.
