Member for Riverina Michael McCormack said the processing of refugees was following “due process”.
“The Riverina will throw its arms out (when the process is completed),” Mr McCormack said.
“We also need jobs for these people.”
Mr McCormack said there was no timeline set for the refugees’ resettling into the country. Wagga Multicultural Council said the city could cater for 300 Syrians.
