Just under 5000 people turned out for last year's charity race day and another big crowd is expected for this year’s edition, pending the weather.
MTC chief executive Scott Sanbrook is confident it will be another great event – rain, hail or shine.
“We could have upwards of 4000 people here,” Sanbrook said.
“Last year we had close to 5000 and half of those were kids.
“If it rains, that could dampen the crowd a bit but it’s a great cause and Kurrajong Waratah work very hard to make the day a success.”
The meeting is set to be held on the Riverside track, pending weather, which was rated a soft five on Wednesday.
“We are watching the weather closely because there is a chance it will have to be transferred to the course proper if we get too much rain,” Sanbrook said.
