First – Blake Shinn (Messene $2.20 fav): He's a quality horse and he's been competitive at the highest level and once he had some soft sectionals mid-race, he was always going to be hard to run down. He gave a great kick at the top of the straight and was always strong to the line.
Second – Grant Buckley (Iggi Pop $10): Really good run. Think the horse is looking for further now.
Third – Jarrod Todd (Adirondack $4.20): Super run. Just a shame I couldn’t get out and get rolling when I wanted to.
Fourth – Brock Ryan (Grand Proposal $15): Jumped pretty good and we had a nice position through the run. Coming into the straight I thought I had heaps of horse underneath me but at about the 200 metre mark something went wrong, something distinctive.
Fifth – Tim Clark (Dance Of Heroes $9): Probably better suited with a wider gate.
Sixth – John Kissick (Secateur $17): Great run. Looking for further and really hit the line nice.
Seventh – Sam Clipperton (Reigning $8): Just got flushed out a bit early and peaked on his run.
Eighth – Tye Angland (Moriarty $10): Wasn’t a bad run. Stuck three deep without cover and got tired late.
Ninth – Brenton Avdulla (Jo Jo Girl $61): Thought she ran ok. The race was just run horrible.
10th – Jake Duffy (Baby Jack $61): Ran well. Pulled up sore in behind.
11th – Winona Costin (Lord De Air $21): Probably could have done with another run under his belt coming into this.
12th – Mathew Cahill (High Opinion $26): Had a wide run. Three wide from the start then pushed four and five wide at the 600m. Just had no luck
13th – Jeff Penza (Rhodin Drive $12): A bit steady out of the gates and got back further than we wanted to.
14th – Brad Clark (Video Show $61): Had a lovely run where he was. Probably just outclassed. When they sprinted he was left flat-footed.
Last – Shaun Guymer (Mr Sommerville $101): Moving into it nice when there was a little bit of an incident of the top of the turn, I got put across heels and checked and grabbed hold. Run came to an end when he couldn’t pick himself up.
