For Me Dad ($5.50) ran her rivals ragged to take out the GWS Giants Class Three Handicap (1000m) on Gold Cup day.
It was For Me Dad’s third straight win and it kept intact McFarlane’s perfect record aboard the three-year-old filly.
McFarlane, who only had her first race ride in August last year, has now ridden For Me Dad to victory each time she has ridden her.
McFarlane said there was no huge secret to the success.
“She’s a super filly, that’s the secret,” McFarlane said.
“She absolutely flew the gates, she was up there and made the others work.
“I didn’t want to go that hard but when she gets like that it’s best to let her go at her own steam.”
It worked, as For Me Dad scored by 1¾ lengths in a time of 57.70 seconds.
Termele ($3.50) was three wide without cover for the trip and fought on for second, with Nights On Fire ($4.60) a further 1¼ lengths back in third.
Winning trainer Neil Osborne was on a fishing trip in Queensland and was forced to watch on from the television.
“It was too windy up there today apparently, which was convenient, so he was able to watch the race on TV,” his son Stuart said.
“She’s been going great and pulled up a treat from her last run.
The Osborne stable are now considering a trip to Queensland for a race on Oaks day.
