Pride has confirmed he will be in attendance at the two big days of the Wagga Gold Cup carnival at Murrumbidgee Turf Club next week.
Pride plans to bring three-time city winner Gamblestown to contest the $100,000 Wagga Town Plate (1200m).
He will also nominate last-start winners Sheilarized and New Tipperary for the $60,000 MTC Guineas –3YO Benchmark 75 Handicap (1600m).
Pride, a winner of 11 group one races, made the trip to Wagga once before in 2004 and hopes for more luck than that occasion.
“I’ve been there once before,” Pride said.
“I took a horse by the name of Flash Phantom down for the Town Plate.
“He hit his head in the tie-up stall and had some blood in his nose and they scratched him on the way to the barriers. So I’ve actually never had a runner at Wagga so hopefully I can have a bit more luck this time.
“Having said that, Flash Phantom was a real wet tracker and came out a week later at Randwick and won at 60-1 on a heavy track, then again next start at 16-1.
“So rather than running on a rock-hard track at Wagga, she went back to Sydney and won on two heavy tracks so it turned out they done me a favour.”
Gamblestown is a winner of $200,000 in prizemoney but has not started since running third first-up at a midweek city meeting at Wyong on March 30.
Pride deliberately held the five-year-old back during the Autumn carnival and believes the Town Plate is the right race to target.
“It’s a really nice race for Gamblestown,” he said.
“He went super last time in and won three in town so he’s no slouch.
“We just decided to hold him back over the carnival.”

Jay Ford rode Gamblestown in a trial at Warwick Farm a couple of weeks ago and is expected to get the ride in the Town Plate.
Of his two Guineas candidates, New Tipperary is a son of High Chaparral that has won two of his three starts, including a first-up win at Newcastle last Thursday.
Sheilarized won by 4¼ lengths last start at Wyong.
