The college has made it to the second round of applications for an Aussie Farmers Foundation Rural Hero Grant.
The next stage is to produce a two-minute video about their project, called Get Set: Enhancing Wellbeing Among Rural Women.
The project has three components – mental health, ecconomic wellbeing and cyber development – and will be delivered over two years in Tumut, Tumbarumba, Batlow, Leeton, Narrandera and Temora.
“Rural women have been identified as vulnerable in our community,” project manager Kym Witney-Soanes said.
If successful, Mrs Witney-Soanes said this methodology could be used in other areas to implement future projects.
The project will be run in conjunction with the Wagga Women’s Health Centre and Farm Link.
The RCC’s video will be uploaded to the Aussie Farmers website on May 2 and voting will be open until May 22.
The winner is decided by the video with the most audience votes so Mrs Witney-Soanes is hoping for full support from the Riverina.
