The (Albury) boys have been stirring me a bit and I've been giving it back
- Mitch Davis
Davis joined CYMS this year after a season with Orange Hawks, prior to that he played an integral role in the Thunder's historic Group Nine premiership treble in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
CYMS' Knockout opener will be the first time Davis has clashed with his former club and the 24-year-old bookend said there's been no shortage of excitement, or chat, since the draw was released last week.
"The (Albury) boys have been stirring me a bit and I've been giving it back," Davis laughed.
"I haven't been able to tell the guys much, the Albury side has changed a lot since I was there.
"So I'm going in as blind as the rest of the guys really.
“I can definitely say they'll be a strong side.
"It should be a really good game first up."
Along with Davis CYMS other major signings, former Hawks captain-coach Brock McGarity and former Redcliffe Dolphin Brenden Cousins, will make their debuts in the green and gold.
CYMS and Albury lock horns from 9.50pm.
