Pedemont is an honorary local at TRYC but family ties have drawn him back to Tocumwal.
“His brother is going back there and a couple of best mates that haven’t played together for a few years,” Carey said.
“He just wanted to go back and play with his best mates and his brother.”
Pedemont joined TRYC from Bathurst in 2014 and had developed into a key player for the Magpies.
Versatile and consistent, Pedemont was picked in the Farrer League representative team last year .
He also played a crucial role in TRYC’s epic grand final win, getting plenty of ball when it mattered to help dig the Pies out of a hole against East Wagga-Kooringal.
“He was good,” Carey said.
“He can definitely play, Dennis and he’ll be missed with that bigger body.
“But I think it’s an opportunity for some of the younger blokes that missed out last year to step up.”
The loss of Pedemont follows the departure of ruckman Scott Higgins but the Pies still look well placed for their flag defence after recruiting former Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong defender Andrew Clarke as co-coach and Mitch Stephenson from the Wodonga Bulldogs.
