It may have taken the Farrer League club until January to land their first signing but the Bombers hope it is worth the wait as Nick joins his brother Matt at Marrar.
Nick spent the past two seasons at Ovens and Murray League club Lavington where he managed three senior games among some standout performances at reserve grade level.
He kicked two goals in Lavington’s reserve grade grand final win last September and is a two-time premiership player at his home club Tumbarumba.
Nick, 23, is excited to join the Bombers.
“I can’t wait, I’m really looking forward to it and playing with Matt again,” Nick said.
“It looks like we’ve got a pretty good list so hopefully we can push for finals and cause a bit of damage once we’re there.
“It was a tough decision to leave Lavington but the opportunity to play with Matt again was hard to turn down.”
Matt is thrilled to have his brother on board.
“We’re seven years apart so we haven’t been able to play a lot of footy together,” Matt said.
“This is a chance to have another year together, which is exciting for me and hopefully for him as well.”
Nick will push his older brother out of the starting ruck position and the two are likely to rotate between the position and up forward.
“Obviously he’s a pretty handy ruckman but he’s also just a good bloke to have around the club,” Matt said.
“He’s infectious, brings a good attitude and gets along with everyone.
“He’s had a couple of years in the O&M in a pretty handy side so he’ll bring a bit of experience and hopefully some class to our side.”
Marrar have also welcomed Jason Reid on board from Temora.
The two additions will help cover the club’s three losses to date with Josh O’Callaghan, Jordan Ryder and Billy Jury moving to Sydney.
