The Saints are set to enter the 2016 season as one of the Farrer League frontrunners after enjoying a fruitful off-season.
The signing of Jordan compliments the addition of fellow Canberra recruits Lachie Highfield and Alex Grozinger and former Collingullie pair Ned Mortimer and Ryan Dean.
Jordan arrives at North Wagga from Belconnen where he was this year named in the AFL Canberra Team of the Year.
A big-sized key defender, Jordan spent time in Belconnen’s North Eastern Australian Football League (NEAFL) team in 2013 and 14.
He was in Belconnen’s losing grand final team this year, where he took out the club’s most improved award.
Jordan, 24, will move to Wagga early in the new year and North Wagga president Greg Fox is rapt to have him on board.
“He’s a strapping big fella,” Fox said.
“He plays centre-half-back and full-back generally. He’s six foot five and about 100 kilos.
“He’s moving here and will spend the next few years here at university.”
Fox believes Jordan’s signing will give the Saints plenty of options.
“We’ve signed four blokes all six foot three or more and most play key position which is good,” he said.
“Daniel gives us another tall option, which is good, and gives us the option to free a couple of other guys up to possibly send forward.”
New North Wagga coach Kirk Hamblin is looking forward to working with Jordan.
“He’s the perfect bloke, exactly the type I was looking for,” Hamblin said.
“He’s a young footballer coming in from playing at a higher level. He’ll bring new ideas which will be great for the club.”
North Wagga is one of a number of Farrer League clubs to recruit strongly over the off-season in what shapes as a highly-competitive competition next year.
“It’s going to be very strong,” Fox said.
“It’s good for footy.”
