Coach Christin Macri confirmed Christmas had come early for the Kangaroos announcing midfielder Sam Jensen, brothers Kieran and Tim Shea and key forward Daniel Hespe will join the club in 2016.
Macri said the move brings quality footballers and outside speed to the club, as well as some depth up forward.
Jensen played every game in the NEAFL for Eastlake this year.
“He’s pretty well built, he’s short in stature but he’s quite solid,” Macri said.
“He puts his head over it and runs through it, and he’s got good outside pace and skill.
“He was playing seniors as an 18-year old with Queanbeyan then he went across to Eastlake in the NEAFL this year so he’s certainly got some talent.”
Macri said Kieran Shea is a strong half-back/on-baller-type who played alongside Jensen at Eastlake this year.
Tim Shea and Daniel Hespe are key forwards who have both played with Queanbeyan in the Canberra league.
Temora had one of the most potent forward pairings in the league but the future of Matt Wallis is uncertain after a change of jobs while Matt Harpley is recovering from a knee reconstruction.
“I wanted to try and recruit a key forward to have cover, so there’s no rush for him to get back and he can get his knee right,” Macri said.
Macri had a connection with Jensen and Tim Shea through a previous coaching role with the GWS Giants academy.
He said the four are good mates and he’s confident they’re coming to Temora for the right reasons.
The Kangaroos were knocked out in the elimination final this year after struggling for consistency.
“On our best days we were really strong and with the development in our players, adding four guys of quality will take the pressure off some of those kids who had to play key roles,” Macri said.
