The 20-year-old from Narrandera would have been happy to raise $200 but has raised $425 for Movember, which was boosted on Friday by friends and family who wanted to see his moustache sparkle.
“My sister asked me ‘if I raise more money will you let me do it?’ … and I’m a man of my word,” he said.
Mr Birch participated in Movember for the first time in support of male friends and family members who recently became ill.
“I know a few blokes that are farmers who think they don’t need to go to the doctor but have ended up pretty crook,” he said.
“I can wear a bit of bum fluff on my face for 30 days.”
Mr Birch is brainstorming ideas for November, 2016 and will raise his fundraising target to $600.
