- President of the Wagga sub-branch of the RSL, Mr H Fife welcomed Kangaroo Marchers from as far away as Melbourne and Sydney as well as Wagga to a 50th anniversary dinner at the RSL Club.
- More than 11,000 people are expected to vote at the Wagga City Council elections this weekend. Seventeen candidates are contesting twelve positions.
- More than 18,000 people stayed last year in the Wagga caravan park.
- The Bishop of Tasmania, the Right Rev R E Davies dedicated the Dora G Day Memorial Window at St John’s Church of England.
- South Wagga YCW members entertained 50 National Service trainees from Kapooka at a social function.
- Former Wagga schoolboy footballer, Ray Parr has been appointed coach of the Wagga Tigers for the 1966 season.
- “Stop” signs are being erected at the Edward and Docker Street intersection to reduce the number of collisions.
- Large packets of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes are 2/6 at David Jones Supermarket, a saving of 9d.
