It comes as motorists faced new reduced speed limits on the road on Tuesday after community concern prompted a Roads and Maritime Services decision for a blanket 70km/h along the stretch. While EPA president Paula Charnock welcomed the announcement, she said the road would need future upgrades including road widening and footpaths as populations at the university and nearby housing estates surged.
