I was most heartened that the majority of readers when asked if selling the card was unacceptable have responded by answering no. Most people believe in freedom of speech and expression and value this aspect of Australian lifestyle.

Ishka does attempt to bring a diverse and multicultural world to Australia. With the world of humour we often get objections. We currently are the only company to sell a book My One Term As Prime Minister, by Sir Tony Abbott, and this also has upset a few. The brilliant Barry Humphries has observed that the number of humourless wowsers has grown with the advent of  political correctness. 

We also get religious objections from a small minority who believe it disrespectful to display Gods and spiritual objects from religions other than their own. We also get complaints about using leather, and wood, even though most is recycled or plantation timber. The sale of North American Indian style feather war bonnets also sometimes provokes hostility.

Our product comes from 60 countries, and much of the design reflects the culture from where it came.  We see the enjoyment our customers have in what we do as a sign of interest and respect for all of humanity and the wonderful things that inspired people create. Many customers are also aware of the value that trade brings to people living with few work options and enjoy their unusual ideas. We would have a very bland shop indeed if we withdrew from sale all that offends.

Would mayor Rod Kendall again confirm to the ratepayers of Wagga Wagga that they are receiving value for their dollar.

TROY Newman, the anti-abortion activist is set to launch a high court bid against deportation.

He allegedly stated in his book “should we kill abortion doctors”.

Regarding the comment “should we kill abortion doctors”, this man is wrong to say that (if he did indeed say that). 

However, there should be a law against abortion - then doctors would not kill babies in the womb.

I challenge doctors all over Australia to write into a newspaper (perhaps The Daily Advertiser, Wagga) and state unambiguously that in an abortion a human is not killed.

I looked many times on YouTube at abortion procedures.

Every time I see a little baby being tortured to death without anesthesia.

I have not once seen a blob of tissue being aborted.

I urge doctors to rise to the challenge and tell me that I am wrong - if you can.

Merriam Webster Dictionary’s definition of foetus is “a developing human from usually two months after conception to birth”.

Most abortions occur after two months.
