The Wagga club had to pull out all the stops late to keep its season alive.
The first year coach thought second half errors almost cost his team the win against Leeton.
“We can’t afford to make those kind of mistakes so we really need to fine tune what is going on out there,” Mitchell said.
“It is all communication.
“The boys are all really good mates but a lack of communication is a mistake.
“We will do our best to get that right.”
After falling in the preliminary final last year to the Steamers, the Waratahs have the chance to reverse the 2013 grand final result.
