Council’s general manager, Phil Pinyon, said a decision now rested with RMS over future speed limits on the road.
“Once determined, council will install the relevant signage,” he said.
Mr Pinyon also revealed initial steps to undertake a driver education program for Charles Sturt University (CSU) students had been discussed at a joint meeting with council staff, RMS and CSU.
He said this was in addition assessments of vegetation removal, with works soon to be undertaken by council.
The road has come under the spotlight after a fatal crash earlier this year. A petition calling for safety upgrades has gathered more than 1000 signatures.
