The new second hand store opened last Wednesday with a record number of customers flooding through the doors to see the new building.
While the process of making the move took around 12 months the physical move itself took a month from when the renovations started.
The extra space has also enabled for more donated items like furniture to be fixed up and sold rather than being discarded.
“People donate so generously and now we have the opportunity to use those donations better than before,” Salvation Army Minister, Bindy Lupis said.
The SalvosConnect Centre (emergency assistance) has also moved to the new building and will be able to offer cooking and budgeting workshops thanks to the extra space.
Donations are welcome at the Forsyth Street store during trading hours and the pick-up service will now recommence after taking a break during the move.
The store is open from 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, open until 7pm on Thursday and 9.30am to 1pm on Saturdays.
The centre are also looking for more volunteers, anyone interested should drop into the store during trading hours.
The new phone number for the Family Store is 6931 0271 and SalvosConnect is 6931 7380.
