About 2.50pm, police and emergency services responded to reports of a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a Holden Commodore on Henry Lawson Way, Young.
The 24-year-old male rider died at the scene.
The 85-year-old female driver of the Commodore was taken by Ambulance Paramedics to Young Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Police from Cootamundra Local Area Command have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
3.15pm: There has been a fatal accident on the outskirts of Young involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle.
Details of the accident are still scarce, but it is believed to have occurred around 20 minutes ago and the Grenfell Road, near Blue Still (former JDs Jam Factory) is now closed to traffic.
Police are asking drivers to use the Chillingworks Road to access the Grenfell Road.
