He went on the show to find love but it turns out that being dumped has done more for his popularity than if he was featured on air.
A nation rallied together to support the 36-year-old single father and hundreds of women focused their attention on the mixed farmer.
He has been inundated with friend requests on his personal social media page, phone calls to his home and a letter or two that has arrived in the mail.
“I knew there would be a backlash … but the fuss over it now is unbelievable,” he said.
Mr Mitchell is satisfied with his portrayal in the media saying “the real me has come out” although he said he is still not used to girls openly calling him handsome.
And while he admits that the constant messages can be confronting, he said it has proven that there are some genuinely nice girls out there.
“The main reason I’m still single is because I couldn’t trust women anymore,” he said.
“It’s nice to know that nice girls are out there and they know my story.”
Mr Mitchell said that while the show placed an emphasis on finding the participants a wife he would be happy with a girl he could get to know as a friend first and then see how things develop.
“I want to be best friends with my next partner so it’s not going to happen overnight,” he said.
Mr Mitchell admits he has been talking to a few girls over social media but does not have any definite love connections just yet.
Things may never return to normal for Mr Mitchell but he is ready to dive back into life on the land while keeping an eye out for any opportunities that are thrown his way.
He is hoping to use his public profile for good to assist with charity work.
A ‘Farmer Scott’ Facebook page has been established by an unknown source and Mr Mitchell encourages people to contact him through the public page instead of his personal account.
