Three weeks ago the club was undefeated atop the Group Nine ladder but has only taken one point away from its last three games.
With losses to Temora, Brothers and a draw with Gundagai, captain-coach Nick Skinner is looking to bounce back against Albury at Greenfield Park on Sunday.
The match up between the two clubs have produced some of the best Group Nine games recently, and while this doesn’t have the same hype due to Albury’s form slump, it’s an important game for both clubs.
Despite the poor run, Skinner isn’t too worried about how his team is travelling.
“We had a bit of a wake up call on the weekend but we are all right,” Skinner said.
“We’d been cruising along not too bad and you have to be on for every game around here or you will get your pants pulled down which is basically what happened to us.
“The boys have trained really good this week and I think it’s got us motivated to play a good game against Albury this week.”
Declaring it’s not time to start panicking, Skinner hasn’t made any changes to the team following the upset loss.
A lack of changes has been a trend all season and Skinner wants his team to get back to playing like they did earlier in the year.
Confident his team can bounce back, Skinner is looking to have the right mindset going into the clash.
“From what I hear Albury was back it its best last week and we understand that they have a really good side so it should be good,” Skinner said.
“I always like playing over there and everyone is really excited.”
The Bulls were victorious the last time they travelled to Greenfield Park and Skinner is out to make the Thunder’s finals equation so much harder.
Sitting in eighth, the premiers are only one win off fifth-placed Kangaroos coming into round 12.
The Thunder prove far too good for Kangaroos last Sunday and are getting close to full strength again.
Rival captain-coach Ben Jeffery is just one man Skinner is looking to keep quiet.
“They are strong right across the park, Ben Jeffery is back and they have some good front rowers too.
“We have to be strong in the forwards and also be wary of their backs.”
