Khazzouh, 29, played three seasons for the Kings before travelling overseas to play in Europe and the Middle East. Khazzouh also has NBA experience, having had short stints with the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers on their summer league rosters.

Khazzouh, who averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks during his time in Lebanon, said he was excited by the opportunity to come home after spending three years away from his family and the club.

"I'm very excited to be back, it's been a long time. Three years away from home, three years away from family. I always knew when I was done playing overseas there was nowhere else to come back to besides here.

"The way Timmy [Tim Hudson] and the management have set this club up is very exciting and I'm looking forward to the future."

Having played with the likes of NBA stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, Khazzouh returns to Australia with an increased sense of maturity, having gained a greater appreciation for the game while overseas.

"I've definitely become a lot more mature as a player. I think my appreciation for basketball is a lot higher as well."

Head coach Damian Cotter said Khazzouh's acquisition would not only benefit the team on the court, but would bring a wealth of experience to a developing roster.

"His track record speaks for itself and he's obviously going to have a positive impact. What I'm excited about is that we are getting him in his prime. He wants to lead and he's going to have obvious positives both offensively and defensively"

When asked about his what his expectations were for the team this year, Khazzouh's answer was simple.

"To win. I think the situation that we were in when I was here, we were still young and we didn't really know what to expect but it's been a long time between drinks for the Sydney Kings.

"There are a lot of people that have put in as much work as they can to try and make this team successful. I think recruiting the right group of guys we are definitely contenders."
