A woman in her 50s is in a critical condition at Canberra Hospital after being trapped in a vehicle for a number of hours.
The woman was extracted from the scene and flown to the hospital late this afternoon.
NSW Ambulance Riverina duty officer Eamonn Purcell said the woman suffered multiple to her head and was in a critical state.
A male driver was taken to Temora hospital with hand and neck injuries.
The driver to the truck is believed to have escaped unscathed.
At this stage any information surrounding the cause of the accident is not available.
1.30pm: EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on the Newell Highway, five kilometres south of West Wyalong.
One person is believed to be trapped in a car. An emergency services helicopter is on its way to the scene.
Another person was extracted from a vehicle and is currently being treated by paramedics.
The accident occurred around 12pm.
The road remains closed in both directions with diversions via Barmedman.
