Two crews from Turvey Park Fire and Rescue responded to an unoccupied house fire on Marshall Street about 10.30pm Saturday.
Station commander Jeff Wellfare said crews had contained the fire within 20 minutes, but a third crew responded to reports of a wheelie bin full of rubbish alight in the front yard on the same street.
The house fire at 24 Marshall Street follows the neighbouring vacant house being destroyed by fire just last month.
Prior to that, fires suspected of being deliberately lit destroyed an abandoned Cottee Street home in February and vacant Ashmont Avenue and Callaghan Street houses in December.
Similarly, a family of three lost everything they owned when their Cottee Street home was completely destroyed by a suspicious fire on December 1.
