All of the hard work and practice each week at the Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre has paid dividends and Mr Boyle has earned a place in the national finals of the young auctioneers competition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show next year.

The competition attracted 10 competitors and was won by Blake O’Reilly from Guyra.

Industry stalwart and former general manager of The Land newspaper Mike Harvey opened the competition.

Following the NSW competition was the 25th ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition. Nick Gray of Elders in Ararat, representing Victoria, won the competition and was named the 2015 ALPA National Young Auctioneer.

“There is nothing better than watching these young men do what they are passionate about and great at,” said Australian Livestock and Property Agents Association chief executive officer Andy Madigan.

“They really do put on a good show that demonstrates the art of auctioneering and to show the audience there is a lot more involved than just talking fast,” he said

Mr Boyle said he was extremely happy to do so well at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

“I was stoked, I went in with the plan to enjoy my self and I have been rewarded,” he said.

“I have always wanted to compete at the state finals and now I have an opportunity to go to the national finals too.”

Mr Boyle plans to spend the next 12 months getting as much selling experience as possible in preparation for the national finals at the Sydney Royal Easter Show next year.

He said the plan was to aim as high as possible and hopefully earn a trip to the Calgary Stampede in Canada.

Traditionally the winner of the national section of the young auctioneers competition heads to Canada to represent Australia in the world finals.

During the judging at Sydney Mr Boyle sold one Charolais steer and two Limousins.

He was supported by parents Kerry and Janine and siblings Annie and William.

Mr Boyle earned $500 in prize money and was presented with the Ron Jones memorial trophy.​
