The result is Harmoni’s Kiss: a fun, fashionable brand of personal care products being sold throughout Australia that keeps teenage girls healthy and gorgeous.
The brand is Australia’s only teen body care label endorsed by Australia Certified Organic (ACO).
Melissa said the phenomenal success of the company is largely due to the growing awareness about the harm that chemicals can cause to people’s health and an increasing demand for natural and organic products.
“When we launched the business, we had to educate people about the prevalence of chemicals in personal care products and the harm this could cause to people’s health and well being,” she said.
“Today there is much more widespread awareness about how people can maintain their wellness and this has driven a much stronger inclination for people to search out natural and organic products.”
Melissa said the business was able to achieve a strong brand awareness through its national distribution deals with David Jones and Woolworths and it was the launch of its online presence which catapulted the success of the enterprise.
“Bricks and mortar business is important for the foundation of any business, however there is a huge international market online for organic products,” she said.
“Being an Australian company is definitely a plus for us as Australia is seen to be ‘clean and green’ and the Australian Certified Organic (ACO) rating has some of the most stringent requirements internationally.”
Melissa said that the ACO endorsement is certainly important from a branding point of view because consumers look for that rating for reassurance that the product is truly organic and natural.
“We’d always strive to get that tick of approval from ACO in any case because it provides us with peace of mind that we are achieving the highest of truly organic standards,” she said
Melissa will speak at a special Women in Business Wagga event being held at the Wagga Art Gallery on Thursday, February 19.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the latest exhibition Enraptured.
Tickets to the luncheon cost $25 and are available from www.womeninbusinesswagga.org.au.
