CHARLES Sturt University's wide spanning search for a coach is complete with Ash Weldon set to step up to the top job.
The Bushpigs announced the appointment of Weldon on Thursday night.
Weldon has been with the club for three years and replaces Brett Garrett.
CSU made contact with more than 80 coaches in its hunt for a coach as it attempts to improve on its winless 2014 season.
The club has thrown its support behind Weldon.
"The club has been through an extensive search for a new coach in a difficult recruiting environment, and have looked internally to fill the role," CSU said in a statement.
"Ash has been around the club for three years and undertaken various roles in that time.
"He is committed to our cause of rebuilding and brings a large amount of enthusiasm and football knowledge."
CSU will commence training under Weldon on Tuesday at Peter Hastie Oval.
The club also said it is committed to providing Weldon with the necessary support, including an assistant coach, strength and conditioning coach, as well as director of coaching.
