WAGGA'S Kaitlin Staines will be out to level her career record against Hope Curtis-McDonald in the women's Australia Day Open final.
The two top seeds will met for the first time in three years and the Wagga teenager is looking to reverse the result from the last time to the teens met.
The pair played in Griffith two years ago and Staines went down in a three-set thriller.
With their history, Staines is expecting another tough clash in the final.
"I played this girl two years ago so it will be a good final," Staines said.
"She's been playing really well and came through her first two rounds pretty easily."
Curtis-McDonald has had an easy passage to the final with a bye in the first round she didn't drop a game in her quarter-final against Angelina Graovac.
The semi-final against Leah Williamson wasn't much tougher, with the 19-year-old from Shepparton winning 6-3 6-2.
On the other hand Staines had a tough three-setter to start the tournament, defeating Nicole Kriz 7-6 6-7 6-4.
The 15-year-old said she was lucky to make it through.
"The first one could have gone anyone's way and I was lucky to get up in the third with a break," Staines said.
"It was on serve for the first two sets then 3-2 was a massive game, I just got there and held my serve."
However Staines was more in control in the semi-final, defeating third seed Jacinta Pang 6-2 6-2.
The men's final will follow the completion of the women's decider with top seed Jade Culph taking on the fifth ranked Alexander De Jong.
Culph has only dropped eight games in four matches on his way into the final.
He took out fourth seed Jay Laginestra 6-2 6-1 in the semi-final to set up the clash with De Jong.
De Jong is also yet to drop a set during the tournament and made it through to the final with a 6-3 6-4 win over Declan Laginestra.
