SAINT MICHAELS captain James Elliott is hoping his team can find some Christmas cheer when taking on Wagga City tomorrow.
Anchored to the bottom of the ladder, with one win from the first six rounds of the season, Elliott is looking to end the end on a high.
Putting last's week outright loss to South Wagga behind them, Elliott has set his sights on giving the premiers a shake.
"We are putting that in the past, it was a bit of a right week last week but that's cricket," Elliott said.
"We are looking to get a win this weekend and go into Christmas with some sort of positive outcome.
"It's going to be tough, Wagga City are a good team and have only lost one game and we are going to have to be on our toes."
Both teams are coming off losses after the Cats slumped to its first defeat of the season last round.
With that in mind Elliott is expecting a sharper opponent at Robertson Oval.
"They will be keen as that right that (loss) and so are we so it should be a pretty good game at Robbo Oval," Elliott said.
"It will good to finish the year with the one dayer and hopefully a win."
Saints will welcome back bowler Rhys Noack while the Cats will be boosted by the return of Alex Coetzur and Aaron Maxwell.
