This is the message Dennis Blackett is promoting as he urges the community to embrace the festive spirit and buy real pine trees.
Mr Blackett, who has been with Sunrise Rotary since 1993, will be joined by other members during December, selling Christmas trees in the Masters carpark.
"There's really no time like Christmas to enjoy the real scent of pine and have something that's alive in your house," Mr Blackett said.
To top it off, a sizable portion of the proceeds from each tree will be donated to the children's ward at Wagga Base Hospital.
"We wanted some of the proceeds to go to the hospital," Mr Blackett said.
The trees, from Victoria, are available in three difference sizes - five foot (152 cm) trees for $60; six to seven foot (183cm to 213cm) trees $65 and eight to nine foot (244cm to 274cm) trees for $70.
"The trees are grown in a traditional conical shape, they are beautiful trees," he said.
Now that the Christmas season is coming into full swing, get ready to deck the halls with boughs of holly and secure the star on the Christmas trees.
To pick out the perfect tree for you and your family, head down to Masters between Friday December 5 and Sunday December 7 from 9am to noon.
A home delivery service is also available at a cost of $5.
