Home brands trump big brands in the price stakes

Have you done a price check on painkillers lately? At my local supermarket last week a packet of 20 Pandol tablets cost $3.19 while a comparable packet of home brand headache pills was 70c – less than a quarter of the big name price. Many consumers still opt for products made by well-known manufacturers despite the price tag. Home brand versus big brand is one of the many bewildering choices we face as consumers.
