The school last year implemented the School24 online menu service, allowing parents to preorder lunches without having to send cash with their children.
It is the first school in Wagga to provide the platform to students.
More than 20 per cent of families have registered for School24 and that number will only increase, canteen manager Joanne Klimpsch said.
"We decided we needed one (an online ordering service) because families are carrying less cash on them and this also allows parents to monitor what their children are eating," Ms Klimpsch said.
"It also ensures children aren't losing their lunch money."
The School24 platform, one of many available in the education space, allows parents to top up their account via PayPal or credit card.
Ms Klimpsch said most metropolitan schools provided a similar service, while the ACT has recently made it mandatory to offer an online platform.
The school has also made its recess menu available online recently.
"We have 53 families registered to use School24, which is quite a lot considering we have about 250 at the school," she said.
Despite its success, Ms Klimpsch could not see cash phased out at the school canteen in the near future.
