Residents around the Riverina made their way to the event for a great day of entertainment and the best of Junee's livestock and produce.
Mr Commens said the number of people coming through the gate was up on last year and there was a 50 per cent increase in pavilion entries on 2013.
"The weather was a bit too hot but we've got no control over the weather," Mr Commens said.
"The fireworks were superb, better than any display we've ever had.
"Every town needs a good show ... it brings people together."
Mr Commens said the exhibitors and volunteers who put the displays together were deserving of thanks.
Junee's Jemima Hart was named Show Girl for 2014 and said the win was a shock.
"I had not pictured myself as a winner," she said.
Miss Hart will now progress to the zone competition in February.
"It would be amazing to make it to the Royal Easter Show."
Temora's Jeff Sutton from Wattle Farm won the Junee High School Supreme Border Leiscester exhibit for the second year running.
Competition steward Paul Anderson said to have nearly double last year's exhibitors was a great result.
"It's great to see a young stud get into showing, supporting their local show and be rewarded with success," Mr Anderson said.
"The competition will improve the quality of the show."
Wagga's Kooringal High School made its debut in the livestock judging and was joined by Cootamundra High and Yanco Agricultural high schools.
"Their (Kooringal's) students performed really well on the day and it's great to see another Wagga school get into the showing game and teaching their students what to look for in stud sheep." Mr Anderson said.
