COLLINGULLIE-Ashmont-Kapooka has bolstered its stocks for its Riverina Football League premiership defence with the signing of brothers Will and Tim Haines.
Will Haines will return to CAK after one season at Hume League club Culcairn and his brother Tim will head to Crossroads Oval for the first time.
CAK co-coach Brett Lenon revealed the signings on Wednesday as the Demons quickly put their list together for their premiership defence.
CAK has already welcomed back James Morris from Culcairn and will be joined by Will and Tim Haines.
It counters the loss of Josh Meiselbach to The Rock-Yerong Creek and retirements of Chris Gow and Matt Lewington.
Lenon is happy to have the Haines brothers at Collingullie.
"Yeah for sure, we obviously had Will at the club for five or six years, he took off for a year at Culcairn and it's good to get him back, and his brother as well," Lenon said.
Will Haines was part of CAK's three Farrer League premierships from 2008-10 and spent three years in the RFL with the club.
He held down centre-half-back at CAK but ventured forward at times for Culcairn with success and was named in the club's best players in nine games.
His brother Tim is a running half-back flank player.
He joined Culcairn for one season from Deniliquin and featured in the Lions' best eight times.
Lenon said Will might feature in a new look Collingullie forward line alongside Morris and Brent Arho.
"Will played a bit up forward at Culcairn and went pretty good," Lenon said.
"We might give him a go up there.
"Tim is a running half-back flank, about six foot two.
"Last season we only just had enough backmen and now we've got a heap.
"Early in the year Will can go forward and that might stretch sides.
"It gives us options anyway, we can throw things around a bit."
Morris is also a huge addition to join Arho up forward.
Morris kicked 51 goals from 18 games at Culcairn last season.
The only losses so far are Meiselbach, Gow, Lewington and Brenton Loudon, who has decided against a second year with CAK.
Lenon is happy with the list for now.
"It stiffens us up," he said.
"We had lost a couple so this gets us back to a spot where we should be playing finals again."
With the majority of their recruiting done, the Demons plan to begin pre-season training in January.
