LOOKING to return to top of the Farrer League once again, The Rock-Yerong Creek has announced three more signings for the 2015 season.
Ovens and Murray star Andrew Carey has been unveiled as the biggest recruit for the Magpies this off-season.
TRYC president Gavin Hofert was thrilled to announce to powerful forward's signing yesterday.
"He's a proven player, he's played in South Australia as well and will be big for our club," Hofert said.
"He's going to be big for our league too, with his profile.
"He's not going to dominant the league to start off with, but once he finds his feet and gets in line with the way our blokes play, he's going to be a very hard man to stop."
The 31-year-old has played in four premierships including one with Albury Tigers this year.
After just missing out on his signature last year, Hofert got his man this year.
With former Carlton player Setanta O'hAilpin playing forward this season, Carey has played down back in his last season for the Tigers.
However, TRYC are looking to use him as its full-forward, taking the pressure off Todd Hannam.
"Toddy Hannam will now attract the third best defender, while this year he had the first defender and it's going to be a weight off his shoulder," he said.
"He's going to progress pretty strongly, he's a Rock junior.
"He kicked 23 goals and we had blokes kicking 15 or 16 goals which is good for small forwards, but not for key forwards."
Carey will be joined by former Albury Tigers teammate Tom Yates, who will return to his junior club.
Yates played in TRYC's 2013 grand final loss, and has re-aligned with the club after another year with the Tigers.
Hofert is looking forward to the three-time Ovens and Murray premiership player being back in the black and white.
"Yatesy is going to bolster our midfield and going to be really handy running through our midfield off the half-back flank," he said.
Strengthening the Magpies big pre-season recruitment Casey Hillary will also rejoin the club.
Signing with the club from Albury Tigers for the 2013 season, Hillary played for Jerilderie in the North West Picola and District League this year.
As a tall option at either end of the ground, Hillary played in the Demons' premiership before deciding to return.
After missing out on the finals for the first time since 2001, the Magpies have already announced the signing of Collingullie-Ashmont-Kapooka's Josh Meiselbach and have no signs of slowing down just yet.
The Magpies haven't finished their recruitment driver and with no players losses from last season, the new additions will only bolster the proud club.
